So the questions comes when should you be pregnant ? what is the ideal time to get pregnant etc.

According to my opinion ideally there is no age limit to get pregnant as far as you are comfortable and want to have a baby. In the year 2019 I read an article stating that one women gave birth to twins at the age of 74 through IVF, making her the oldest person ever to give birth. So technology has made it possible and proved again that age is just a number.

However, preparing yourself for pregnancy before 30 has its own advantages as our body is more flexible and adaptive to changes caused by pregnancy, therefore discuss with your partner well in advance and plan accordingly, you will experience smooth pregnancy.

Consulting your Doctor should be your first step while planning for pregnancy.

Key Points to keep in mind.

a.   Get pre-conception checkup done which includes a detailed blood test report. The blood test report will make sure that you are healthy or you need any additional vitamins or minerals tablet etc. Your doctor might advice folic acid tablets immediately.

b.   It is advised that even if it's your second baby, you should get your pre-conception check-up done, as your body should be ready for a second pregnancy.

c.    Make sure you disclose your own health condition, any tablets or diagnosed with any infection or disease also most important point is to disclose to your doctor  if any certain health conditions run in your family or any other health conditions you suffer or any past miscarriage, use of any contraceptive pills or abortion has been carried as it has an impact on your current pregnancy.

Eat Right and that’s Right

Key to healthy pregnancy is taxing on the body’s nutritional stores. You need to boost yourself by taking a multivitamin to bridge any gap. Balance diet is most important when it comes healthy body. Different fruits and vegetables have different nutritive value makes it important for us to have variations in our diet. The healthier we are before pregnancy, the better to maintain a healthy pregnancy.

Remove unhealthy foods from your diet, start limiting your exposure to toxins. Go-gluten- free, avoid maida. Say no to Alcohol consumption and smoking cigarettes. No pasta, pizza, coke, fries and other junk food. One should up lift their lifestyle in order to give a healthy and smooth environment for pregnancy. Boosting your Immune system should be your topmost priority.

Maintain active and healthy Lifestyle | Exercise

In order to stay healthy exercise is must. We often hear from our grand mother’s regarding their healthy lifestyle in spite of working hard in the fields. We must always keep our body in some sort of movement which we call it exercise. It may be a walk, or a Jog or some Yoga exercises but always remember take some time out for exercise.

Exercise is important during pregnancy as it helps you sleep better, reduces stress, makes labour pan easier, helps you recover fast after pregnancy etc. We must increase our strength and reduce stress at this crucial stage. But please note that the type and intensity of exercise must be determined only after consultation with the doctor rather advised by the doctor.

Weight management plays an important role in pregnancy. So it’s time to increase or decree your weight as per advised by your doctor, consultant, physicst or your well-wishers. Always remember healthy diet solves half of the problems.

Discuss with your Partner about pregnancy;

Discussing with your partner is one of the most important aspect which is not considered by many couples. Pregnancy not only is a life changing experience for a mother but also for a father hence sharing your thoughts and preparing your partner mentally, physically and psychologically becomes extremely important when it comes to parenting a baby. Raising a child should be a team work of both the parents and not just a duty of mother. Therefore, responsibility sharing and caring for each other becomes extremely significant as mother has to go through hormonal changes in her body causing mood swings.

Manage your Pregnancy Fund | Savings | Insurance

After discussing with your partner the next question comes is regarding your Expenses during pregnancy. Therefore start saving / investing in small portions so that it will not become a burden at the time of pregnancy or during sonography which has to be conducted every month to track the growth of your baby. Some of the insurance companies provide pregnancy Insurance and some of them do not. Hence, choose your insurance policy taking into consideration your future needs.

(the Sonography and Pregnancy-related expenses I will be discussing in my upcoming posts).

Choose your Hospital Well in Advance | Insurance

Choosing a right hospital is extremely important as you need to frequently and regularly visit for check up and follow up with your Doctor. Trusting your Doctor is most important and therefore known Doctor who is your friend, family member, acquaintance should be your first choice. After choosing the hospital, plan a visit and find out what are their charges for pregnancy, sonography, follow up charges or any other charges etc.  Insurance is another aspect as some of the hospitals have tie –ups with insurance companies and it becomes easier to get insurance cover easily.

Track your Menstrual Cycle | Have Sex

Basic step for preparing for pregnancy is to track your menstrual cycle. Knowing when you ovulate, which are your fertile days which can help you plan for sex at the right time and improve your chances of getting pregnant. There are different methods of tracking your menstrual cycle such as your home calendar, your personal diary or various apps available on play store or app store. Thanks to the technology as some of the apps also has ovulation calculator inbuilt this will identify your fertile days. The next step is to have sex, after all sex is what will make you pregnant therefore, frequent unprotected sex through your cycle will increase your chances of getting pregnant.  The most important point is to keep a track on your last period date after you conceive successfully as based on same the estimated arrival date of baby can be determined properly by a doctor.

(Commonly used apps available are Period Tracker, Ovulation Calculator and Calender, Period and Ovulation tracker, Ovulation, fertility & Pregnancy)
